Give to Charity with the Annual Love Ride Motorcycle Rally
The annual Love Ride, a charitable motorcycle rally, is celebrating its 32nd and final year on October 18th. The world’s largest and longest running motorcycle event is going out with a bang. The Love Ride’s motto is “Load up the gear, kick back with a beer and let the weekend roll in.” You can enjoy a weekend filled with great entertainment, food, and, of course, motorcycles.
This year the rally hopes to raise 24 million for The Wounded Warrior Project. The Wounded Warrior Project is a veterans’ charity organization. By 2017, the project will have helped over 100,000 wounded veterans, and will have raised 96 million to help warriors and their families.
When and Where
The Love Ride will take place in Glendale, CA. The Caravan of the Bikes kicks off at 9am at Harley-Davidson of Glendale and routes to Castaic Lake.
Advanced tickets can be purchased online until October 16 at 12am for $45. After Oct 16, the price will rise to $60. Tickets can also be purchased at the event site from 6am to 10am for $60. Children under 12 are free.
Each ticket automatically places you in a drawing for many different prizes. Prizes include a 2015 FLHX Harley-Davidson Street Glide in black, and 3-night stay at The Ironhorse Hotel for two in Milwaukee. The winners will also enjoy a tour of the Harley-Davidson factory and museum.
Every year, Love Ride draws in many famous faces, including Jay Leno, Robert Patrick, Peter Fonda, Willie Davidson, Sarah Spiegel, Juli Moody, and Kristi Swanson. If you’re looking to get a closer look at the celebrity attendees, there will be a press conference at 8:15am before the kickoff.
You can’t have an event without food. There will be several food trucks and vendors, from American food favorites to Mexican to treats and more. Tommy’s Hamburgers, Pink’s – the Hollywood Legend of Hotdogs, Chipotle, and Budweiser are sponsors.
There will be plenty to do before and after the charity ride. Activities will start at 10am at Castaic Lake. The main event is a concert with headliner Foo Fighters. Social Distortion will also play with an opening by American Hitmen.
Other activities include the Peter Fonda Bike show, grand prize drawings, a trade show, and a stunt show with Juli Moody. The Victor McLaughlin Motor Corps precision motorcycle drill team will also entertain.
